Start with your entrance.
The choice starts with the setting. An apartment, a detached house and an entrance exposed to the weather may need different considerations. Before comparing doors, collect the opening dimensions and photographs from inside and outside. Explain how the entrance is used and which needs you want to address: protection, comfort, light, accessibility or continuity with the architecture.
Compare the complete door.
The leaf is only one part of the system. Frame, lock, cylinder, protective hardware, fittings and installation contribute to the result. A useful description distinguishes standard equipment from options and identifies the proposed configuration. If two quotations use the same product name, check that components and conditions can actually be compared.
Read the data alongside the documents.
Declared performance has a specific reference: model, configuration and scope. The burglar-resistance class, insulation values and other characteristics should not automatically be extended to every range variant. Ask for the data sheets relevant to the product you are choosing, and establish which data describe the complete system and which describe a single component.
Include installation in the design.
Before ordering, check the opening, supporting surfaces, clearances and finished floor level. Fixing arrangements and junction details should be agreed with the installer. On completion, check the movement of the leaf, operation of the locking system and the use and maintenance instructions. A well-planned entrance includes these steps.
For your consultation.
- Model and configuration identified in the quotation.
- Standard equipment and options described separately.
- Technical data sheets for the proposed product.
- Installation, junctions and opening conditions checked.
